Snowflakes is a new release from NYX and NextGen Gaming, and it is a slot machine that gets all its inspiration from winter and from the snowflakes that so many love to see during this time of year.

The entire set of symbols seems to show us only snowflakes, coming in different shapes, sizes and even colors, that last one being a surprise since it doesn’t happen in real life. You’re looking at snowflakes colored in purple, pink, green or blue, even in different shades.

It’s a pretty enough game in its own way, but I don’t feel like we’re getting something extraordinary here. It might’ve been a good idea on their part, but I’m not sold on the actual way they implemented it. It’s not a great looking slot machine.

I enjoyed a lot of games that came from them, but not all of them. Theme wise, you will find some games which have very common titles, but there will also be some that are unique (Daredevil, Silver Star, etc).

How To Play It

Snowflakes is a slot machine that has 25 lines, and it appears that they are always activated. You, as a player, get to decide only the total bet.

You will find the setting in the corner, on the left side. You can use the arrows there to decrease the wager or to increase it as needed. The smallest bet that you can get away with is $0.25. The largest wager seems to go up to $500, the coins having a top denomination of $20.

You will get a mobile friendly game, which doesn’t have too many buttons for you to trip on, not on the main screen at least. The Spin button is on the right side, the Betting Options are on the left. The various displays are placed at the top of the screen.

Special Features

Ivy Wild is the name of one of the available features, a randomly occurring one, which you can get after any paid spin. You will see that up to five symbols are transformed into wilds. You can have only one transformed symbol per reel.

Another one that can help you out is the Wild Wind. This feature will bring on the wind, and it will blow on your reels, giving once again as many as five wild symbols on up to five reels.

The game is going to have free spins as well, and they’re coming from the scatter symbols. You can win 7, 10 or even 15 free spins, if you have 3, 4 or 5 scatters in view in the game. The wild symbols that appear along the way are going to be locked and will stay in position until the feature’s end. You can retrigger free spins.

Summary

Snowflakes, despite the good idea of its theme, hasn’t been implemented that well. I think that you will enjoy its features, but its graphics aren’t as impressive.
