Hot theme comes from the kitchen of experienced developers WMS.
Brazilian dancers come to sweep you off your feet and prepare you for the best award that you could get apart from watching them sway in breath-taking costumes, the Progressive Jackpot.
WMS have created their first progressive slot featuring 5 reels and 40 ways to win available on desktop, mobile and tablet.
Whatever device you use be sure to try Dancing in Rio as it features Free Spins, multipliers and even 7 different jackpots.
What We Love
What stands out in this slot are definitely the jackpots which make this slot worth playing. The developers have prepared 7 different jackpots that can be triggered by green and/or red fields on the reels. The Jackpot triggers actually appear as background of the reels and there are six different combinations.
Five of them include only green triggers and they stand for lower jackpots: Mini, Minor, Major, Burst and Plus. Pay attention to how they change as you change your bet so the more you bet the higher the jackpots.
The sixth combination includes four green triggers and a red one which is always situated on the fifth reel.
If you stake less than $2 you will trigger Splurge Jackpot which can win you up to $40,000, while if you are willing to bet $2 or more, you will lock Splurge and unlock Progressive Jackpot and a possibility to win up to $55,000.
Apart from the jackpots which are obviously the main attraction we also liked the reinvention of the Scatter that comes in the shape of a mask, but with four additional variants that can add from 2 – 20 Free spins to your traditional Free Spins Bonus.
What We Do Not Like
It is hard to find a flaw to this progressive slot. If we must object to something, than it will be the lack of creativeness. All features are pretty traditional with no innovation, but that is what we expected from veterans such as WMS who stick to the good old features.
Moreover, exciting as it may sound, the theme did not appeal to us. Dancers and Rio Carnival are a pretty obvious choice, which does not have to be a bad thing if you add some creative spark to it, which Dancing in Rio obviously lacks.
Despite the predictable theme and mediocre design of the slot, Dancing in Rio is worth your time. We believe that the focus of the developers was never on the looks in the first place. Having in mind that this was their first slot with a progressive jackpot we completely justify the fact that they focused on the game play rather than design.
The game itself compensates for all lacks of the creativity in the design. The reinvented Scatter and the possibility to win 7 different jackpots, with the Progressive Award that can make you rich is more than enough for us to say a big yes to Dancing in Rio.
