Wooden background has been revamped and placed on the backdrop of a beautiful ocean’s view with symbols and general visual appeal given a modern, 3D touch in a glorious graphical presentation.
Emerald Isle is a 5×3 slot with 20 paylines, available on desktop, mobile and tablet devices which offers substantial rewards to players who can enjoy this quite an affordable brand new version.
What We Love
The Emerald Isle slot features a universally loved theme that has a huge fan base among players not exclusively with an Irish background. Leprechauns are a loveable creatures associated with pots of gold at the end of the rainbow and its mythical character can be quite appealing, so it is no wonder that similarly themes games would go on to be quite successful in the past.
NextGen’s latest title brings plenty of fabulous graphical solution, filled with that recognizable mythical appeal to them and are accompanied by a soothing soundtrack that is a fitting complement to the visuals.
Emerald Isle is an affordable game and that is one of the best aspects of this slot. It can be played from as low as $0.20 to $40 which makes it a good choice for all kinds of players, whether they are beginners, casual players or high rollers. The game is also very rewarding and it can offer as much as 6,000 coins for notching five Leprechauns in a row.
One other thing that we highly enjoy in all of the games that have it on offer is the Gamble feature. Upon every win, however small it may be, the Gamble icon will appear on the right side of the reels prompting you to choose between suit and colour of a hidden card for a chance to double and quadruple your base game win.
It is a great opportunity to make your negligible win a significant one, and of course a risk to lose it if your selection is wrong. Still it is a welcoming risk we are willing to take from time to time to spice things up a little bit.
What We Do Not Like
We have to be frank and completely blunt at this point – we are not big fans of the Irish leprechauns theme which we believe has been overly exploited in the past. For a game of this subject to be able to appeal to us it needs to have something really special and Emerald Isle unfortunately is nothing more than an ordinary – quite good, but still ordinary – video game.
Emerald Isle benefits from two usual special features and offers Free Games and a Bonus Round during which you pick three matching icons to grab cash prize with a multiplier, if it appears that is.
A progressive Jackpot of some sort would have made Emerald Isle pop out from the crowd and get its neck above the water with the rest of the similarly themed variations.
Truth be told, we didn’t quite get it why such a big name like NextGen would choose to revamp their own old and outdated game, without adding a tweak or two to make it significantly and not only visually better than the original.
We haven’t been convinced with the effort and with the abundance of exciting and action-packed games you can choose from this summer, Emerald Isle would be the one we would skip.
